R. Christopher Bunt

R. Christopher Bunt is a seasoned litigator with a focus on patent infringement actions, primarily serving as local counsel in the Eastern District of Texas. He is often engaged by national firms to provide trial support, leveraging his extensive experience in jury selection, witness examination, and trial strategy. His broader litigation practice also encompasses commercial litigation, negligence, personal injury, and product liability matters.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bunt has represented individuals, as well as local, national, and international corporations. His patent litigation experience, as tracked, includes plaintiff-side representation, such as his appearance on behalf of Beneficial Innovations, Inc. in Beneficial Innovations, Inc. v. Careerbuilder, LLC, et al. (E.D. Tex., Case No. 2:09-CV-175). He is a shareholder at Parker, Bunt & Ainsworth, P.C., a firm he joined in 2005. Prior to this, he held shareholder and associate positions at Howard, Davis & Bunt, P.C., Howard & Davis, P.C., and Grainger, Howard, Davis & Ace.

Mr. Bunt has significant trial experience, having served as lead counsel in over 24 jury trials and as a trial attorney in more than 40 trials across various practice areas, including patent infringement. He also possesses experience in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, having represented Patent Owners in matters such as CBM2017-00016. His litigation skills have been recognized through his consistent inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation since 2010.

R. Christopher Bunt earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Texas School of Law in 1993, where he was a member of the Texas Law Review. He completed his undergraduate studies at Centenary College of Louisiana, receiving a B.A. in Political Science summa cum laude in 1990. He is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
