Nicholas J. Choi

Nicholas J. Choi is a patent litigation attorney with experience in federal district courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). His practice covers a broad spectrum of technologies, including semiconductors, electronics, software, chemicals, telecommunications, and life sciences. Mr. Choi leverages his scientific background, which includes an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, and prior experience as a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) patent examiner to navigate complex technical disputes.

Mr. Choi represents both plaintiffs and defendants in intellectual property matters. His single tracked appearance was on the defendant side in the case of ZHUHAI COSMX BATTERY CO., LTD. v. Ningde Amperex Technology Limited. This case involved patent infringement related to lithium-ion battery technology, where the defendant successfully secured a jury verdict of invalidity for two of the three asserted patents.

Currently an Associate at Nixon Peabody LLP, Mr. Choi's tracked patent litigation appearance occurred while he was associated with Alston & Bird.
