Nathaniel Ngerebara

Nathaniel Ngerebara is an Intellectual Property Litigation partner in Kirkland & Ellis LLP's Bay Area office, where his practice focuses on high-stakes patent infringement and trade secret litigation. His experience spans complex technologies including DNA sequencing, adaptive cruise control in automotives, organ transplant diagnostics, home security and monitoring systems, and container virtualization.

Ngerebara primarily represents defendants, aligning with his single tracked appearance defending International Business Machines Corporation in VirtaMove Corp. v. International Business Machines Corporation. In this case, he helped achieve a joint stipulation to dismiss all claims with prejudice within 160 days, a notably swift resolution for a patent infringement suit in the Eastern District of Texas. His prior experience includes securing a trial victory and permanent injunction for a global DNA sequencing company and defending a major organ transplant diagnostics company against multi-patent lawsuits.

Beyond district court litigation, Ngerebara also has experience with proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and arbitration panels. He is admitted to the California Bar and received his legal education from UC Berkeley School of Law.
