Nathaniel Legum

Nathaniel Legum is an intellectual property lawyer at O'Melveny & Myers LLP, focusing his practice primarily on patent and other high-stakes technology-related litigation. His technical background in Computer Science informs his work across various technology areas, including OLED display technologies, microprocessor and graphics process technology, and systems for delivering multimedia content.

Mr. Legum primarily represents defendants in patent disputes. His experience includes defending clients such as Google Inc. in approximately half a dozen patent matters in district court, the ITC, and before the PTAB, which reportedly settled on favorable terms. He also defended Samsung in related ITC and district court actions involving OLED display patents, and AMD in district court actions concerning microprocessor and graphics process technology. Further, he represented Hulu in a Federal Circuit appeal that affirmed the dismissal of patent claims related to multimedia content delivery.

Legum is experienced in all stages of litigation, including claim construction, discovery, summary judgment, trial, and appeal. His practice also extends to inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), as evidenced by his work in Google's patent matters.
