Min Yang

Min Yang, a partner at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, focuses his practice on patent and trade secret litigation and disputes, alongside counseling clients on licensing, portfolio management, and intellectual property strategies. His technical expertise spans artificial intelligence (AI), wireless communications, semiconductors and integrated circuits (ICs), software, storage, and network technologies. He also handles matters involving standard-essential patents (SEPs) and FRAND royalties.

Yang demonstrates experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent disputes. His tracked cases include defending Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics America, Inc. in W&Wsens Devices Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. et al. and representing the plaintiff side in Samsung Semiconductor Inc. et al. v. W&W Sens Devices Inc. This balanced experience highlights his versatility in patent litigation, often defending operating companies against infringement and licensing claims.

Throughout his career, Yang has been affiliated with Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, where he previously served as a managing partner of the firm's Palo Alto office. He has litigated and first-chaired over 70 litigations and arbitrations, with a record of securing numerous dismissals without settlement payments and defeating patent infringement assertions by major wireless-technology licensors. His practice also includes significant experience advising on inter partes reviews (IPRs) and other PTAB invalidation proceedings.

Yang earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where he was recognized with Order of Coif, and holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering from National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan. He is admitted to practice in California.
