Megan L. Meyers

Megan L. Meyers is an Atlanta-based attorney at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, where her practice centers on patent litigation. Her technical focus areas primarily include Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) matters and litigation arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act, as well as cases involving biologics and gene therapy treatments. She also has experience with other technologies, notably securing a significant jury verdict in a patent infringement case involving voice recognition technology.

Meyers represents both patent holders and accused infringers. While her tracked appearance shows her as lead counsel for a defendant (Novartis Gene Therapies, Inc.), her experience includes successfully defending companies like Novartis in complex patent disputes, as well as representing patent holders such as Incyte and AstraZeneca in pharmaceutical litigations. She achieved a $240 million jury verdict for client Promptu in a patent infringement lawsuit against Comcast, where willful infringement of voice recognition technology patents was found.

She is active in Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, with experience in Inter Partes Review (IPR) and Post-Grant Review (PGR) matters. Notably, in Genzyme Corporation v. Novartis Gene Therapies, Inc., she successfully defended Novartis against multiple patent infringement actions and IPR proceedings related to gene therapy technology, leading to a favorable settlement after several patents were invalidated or found not literally infringed.

Meyers is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in Georgia, and she is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She earned her J.D., with high honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2018, and holds dual B.S. degrees in Psychology and Biology, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia, received in 2014.
