Lawrence Jarvis

Lawrence Jarvis is a patent litigation attorney at Fish & Richardson, where he was elevated to Principal in January 2023. He specializes in complex intellectual property disputes for major technology companies, leveraging a background as a software engineer. His practice encompasses a broad range of technologies, including consumer electronics, video codecs, electric vehicles, telecommunications, network security, wireless networks, video compression, cellular communication, and standard essential patents (SEPs).

Mr. Jarvis demonstrates versatility in his patent litigation practice, representing both plaintiffs enforcing patents and defendants defending against infringement assertions, particularly in disputes involving standard essential patents. His tracked appearances primarily indicate a defense-side focus, including his role as of counsel for the defendant in Dish Technologies L.L.C. v. Frndly TV, Inc. He has also served as lead counsel for defendant HP Inc. in Wilus Institute of Standards and Technology Inc. v. HP Inc. Notably, he was involved in Philips RS North America LLC, et al. v. Quectel Wireless Solutions Co. Ltd., et al. before the International Trade Commission (ITC), where his firm secured an initial determination of no violation, non-infringement, and unenforceability, which was affirmed by the full commission.
