Kelly Chen

Kelly Chen is Managing Counsel for business litigation at Toyota Motor North America, Inc., where she oversees the company's patent litigation and class action matters. In her in-house capacity, she represents Toyota exclusively on the defense side, as shown in her appearance in Chemtron Research LLC v. Toyota Motor North America, Inc. Before moving in-house, her practice at a private firm involved representing clients in intellectual property disputes across a range of technologies, including semiconductors, telecommunications, and pharmaceuticals.

Ms. Chen joined Toyota in October 2020. Prior to that, she was a litigation partner at Munck Wilson Mandala, LLP. At Munck Wilson, her practice focused on patent infringement and complex commercial cases. While at the firm, she was part of a trial team that won a jury verdict of $58.7 million, which later grew to an $88.7 million judgment, for a plaintiff in a case involving patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation.
