Joshua A. Griswold

Joshua A. Griswold is a Principal and the Office Managing Principal of the Dallas office at Fish & Richardson P.C., where his practice encompasses patent procurement, enforcement, and defense. He has been with the firm for over 20 years.

Mr. Griswold's practice focuses on a diverse range of mechanical, electrical, and software innovations. His technical expertise, informed by prior experience as a mechanical engineer, spans areas such as oilfield drilling, completion, and production equipment, electrical control systems, wireless telemetry, sensor-based controls, semiconductor manufacturing, and enterprise software. His tracked litigation matters, including SHENZHEN TUOZHU TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. et al. v. Stratasys Inc. and BambuLab USA, Inc. et al. v. Stratasys, Inc., involve disputes related to 3D printing technology, where he has represented both plaintiff and defendant sides, with two defendant-side appearances and one plaintiff-side appearance in his tracked cases.

He is actively involved in contested intellectual property matters before U.S. district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), successfully handling numerous reexamination and post-grant proceedings. Mr. Griswold is recognized for his post-grant work and currently serves as the Chair of the Technology Committee for the PTAB Bar Association (2025-Present).

Mr. Griswold is admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (2000) and the State Bar of Texas (1999). He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999 and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (1995). He has been recognized as a "Leading Patent Professional" by IAM Patent 1000 for multiple years.
