Joseph J. Raffetto

Joseph J. Raffetto is a patent litigation attorney and partner at Hogan Lovells US LLP, focusing his practice on intellectual property matters with an emphasis on patents. With an academic background in computer engineering and mathematics, he specializes in high-tech and automotive sectors. His expertise spans standard essential patents (SEPs), autonomous driving, connected cars, electrification, and broader mobility technologies, advising clients on patent litigation, commercialization, counseling, and prosecution.

Raffetto primarily represents defendants, counseling and defending multinational companies in high-stakes patent disputes across various U.S. forums. His tracked appearances include defending Mercedes-Benz AG in Mimzi, LLC v. Mercedes-Benz AG, a patent infringement case in the Eastern District of Texas concerning location-based information and connected car features.
