Jonathan I. Detrixhe

Jonathan I. Detrixhe is a seasoned patent litigator and Counsel at Reed Smith LLP, with over 15 years of experience in securing favorable outcomes for clients in district courts, before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB), and at the International Trade Commission. His practice focuses on a broad range of technologies, leveraging his electrical engineering background to litigate cases involving computer hardware and software, wired and wireless communication systems, medical devices, consumer electronics, semiconductors, optics, speech processing, video coding, and video games.

Detrixhe demonstrates experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigation. While his tracked case appearances show an even split, his role as lead counsel for Keysight Technologies, Inc. in a significant defense against infringement claims highlights his capability in defending operating companies. He is consistently involved in post-grant proceedings, particularly Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings before the PTAB, where he frequently serves as lead counsel for both petitioners and patent owners.

A notable engagement includes his work on behalf of Keysight Technologies, Inc. against Centripetal Networks, Inc., where Reed Smith secured multiple victories. This included Federal Circuit affirmances of ITC decisions finding no violation and PTAB IPR decisions invalidating most claims of Centripetal's patents, including a cross-appeal ruling that additional claims were invalid. Detrixhe actively participated in the Federal Circuit oral arguments for this case. He has also been listed as counsel for petitioners in other IPR proceedings.

Jonathan Detrixhe holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Texas. He is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to various U.S. District Courts in California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
