John F. Summers

John F. Summers is a principal at Caldwell Cassady & Curry, specializing in high-stakes intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, and trade secret disputes. His practice areas frequently involve complex technologies across various sectors, such as ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) standards, optics and lighting, computer network encryption/decryption software, and orthopedic medical devices. He also played a key role in a 2018 $502.6 million victory for VirnetX against Apple Inc. and successfully represented ZitoVault in a patent infringement suit against IBM, leading to a licensing agreement. Mr. Summers was also part of the team that obtained an $8.2 million verdict for Acantha LLC against DePuy Synthes.
