Jin Zhu

Jin Zhu, Ph.D., is a patent litigation attorney at Fox Rothschild LLP, focusing his practice on intellectual property matters for the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries. Leveraging a strong scientific background with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and prior experience as a pharmaceutical research scientist, he brings deep understanding to cases involving drug discovery and development, therapeutic compounds, drug formulations, manufacturing processes, and abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs). He also co-leads the firm's China IP initiative.

Dr. Zhu’s litigation experience includes representing clients in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), handling both inter partes review (IPR) and post-grant review (PGR) proceedings. He is currently lead counsel for Conjupro Biotherapeutics, Inc. in a notable Post-Grant Review challenging a GLP-1 related patent held by Ascletis Pharma China Co Ltd (PGR2025-00057). The available case data indicates a focus on the plaintiff side in patent disputes, with his tracked appearance as lead counsel for a petitioner challenging a patent.

Beyond litigation, Dr. Zhu advises on the legal aspects of drug discovery and development and has led numerous intellectual property due diligence investigations for biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies in connection with significant mergers and acquisitions. His team at Fox Rothschild also advised CSPC Pharmaceuticals in an $18.5 billion licensing agreement with AstraZeneca.

Dr. Zhu earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Maryland at College Park and his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2013. He also holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Nankai University, China.
