Jie Xiang

Jie Xiang is a Shareholder in the Litigation and Electrical & Computer Technologies practice groups at Wolf Greenfield, focusing on patent litigation and IP strategy. His practice encompasses a wide array of high-technology sectors, including semiconductors, nanotechnology, MEMS, integrated photonics, image processing, wireless communication (including 5G and Wi-Fi 6), biomedical devices, and consumer wearable technology, alongside neural networks and machine learning applications. Dr. Xiang brings a robust technical background in electrical engineering and materials science, having conducted research at Harvard, Caltech, and UC San Diego.

Dr. Xiang represents clients in patent disputes across various forums, including U.S. District Courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). While tracked appearances indicate a plaintiff-side role in one instance, his public profile highlights significant defense-side experience, including representing Sony defendants in patent infringement litigation concerning image sensor technology and Google in a case involving deep-linking technology.

His experience extends to all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigation and discovery to trial. Dr. Xiang holds a B.S. in Physics from Peking University, an A.M. and Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
