Jessica M. Stookey

Jessica M. Stookey is an Associate in the New York office of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, focusing her practice on intellectual property litigation. Her work is significantly informed by her educational background in biology and laboratory research, specifically in reproductive endocrinology. She specializes in life sciences patent litigation, including pharmaceutical patent cases under the Hatch-Waxman Act, and matters involving biologics versus biosimilars, innovative pharmaceutical formulations, monoclonal antibodies, and mRNA vaccines. She joined Cahill from Haug Partners in April 2025.

Ms. Stookey handles both plaintiff and defendant-side patent litigation, as evidenced by her appearances in Merus N.V. v. Xencor, Inc. (plaintiff) and Xencor, Inc. v. Merus N.V. (defendant). Cahill Gordon & Reindel's IP litigation group, where she practices, is noted for representing innovator companies in complex patent disputes. The firm's practice extends to district courts across the country and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.

Her practice includes experience with proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), where she participates in challenging and defending patents through inter partes review and post-grant proceedings. Ms. Stookey earned her J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2021, where she served as Executive Editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal. She holds a B.S. from Allegheny College, awarded in 2018.
