Jeremy D. Peterson

Jeremy D. Peterson is a patent litigation attorney with significant experience across a broad spectrum of technologies, currently practicing at PV Law LLP. His practice areas encompass solar technology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, telephony and wireless communications, web applications, hardware and software programs, computers and semiconductors, optics, and personal transporters. Notably, his background includes a decade-long career as a scientist in genomic research and bioinformatics, which provides a unique technical depth to his intellectual property practice.

Peterson represents clients on both the plaintiff and defendant sides in patent disputes, seeking or defending against claims for royalties and injunctions. His firm history includes an appearance as lead counsel at White & Case, and he is now a key attorney at PV Law LLP, a Washington, D.C.-based firm recognized for its patent litigation and post-issuance PTO proceedings, particularly for U.S. and Asian-based companies. His notable case work includes representing Maxeon Solar Pte. Ltd. as plaintiff in Maxeon Solar Pte. Ltd. v. Canadian Solar, Inc., a patent infringement lawsuit concerning TOPCon solar photovoltaic module technology. In related proceedings, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) later invalidated most of Maxeon's asserted claims against Canadian Solar. He also defended Maxeon Solar Pte Ltd. in REC Solar Holdings AS et al. v. Maxeon Solar Pte Ltd., another case involving advanced solar cell technology which concluded in a joint dismissal.

Peterson possesses extensive experience with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), as well as Section 337 proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), in addition to federal district court litigation. He has also contributed insights on Federal Circuit rulings concerning estoppel in PTAB decisions.
