Jennifer R. Bush

Jennifer R. Bush is a patent litigation attorney with a significant focus on post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), complementing her experience in district court patent litigation. Her practice encompasses a broad range of technical areas, including computer software, internet technologies, gaming, social networking, mobile applications, data storage and security, image processing, RFID, life sciences, and medical devices, as well as mechanical engineering, manufacturing, e-commerce, semiconductors, optics, and communications.

Bush currently serves as Counsel at Wolf Greenfield, a role she assumed in March 2025. Prior to this, she was an Associate Counsel at Fenwick & West LLP, where her tracked appearances include representing Intuit Inc. as a defendant in TQP Development, LLC v. Intuit Inc. Throughout her career, she has primarily represented operating companies, defending them in patent disputes and challenging patents in post-grant reviews.

Her experience before the PTAB is particularly notable; she is recognized among the Top 50 Women in PTAB Trials by the PTAB Bar Association and has served as lead or backup counsel in 35 Post-Grant Reviews (PGRs), making her one of the most experienced PGR attorneys in the United States. She regularly handles Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs), patent appeals, and reexamination proceedings, and has achieved favorable results for clients, including obtaining decisions of patent ineligibility under Section 101 from both the PTAB and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. For example, she represented Supercell Oy at the PTAB, securing PGR victories in a dispute with GREE, Inc.

Ms. Bush is admitted to practice in California (since 2003) and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2003 and holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
