Jeffrey Lance Johnson

Jeffrey Lance Johnson is a patent litigation partner at Baker Botts LLP, specializing in complex intellectual property disputes across high-tech, energy, and life sciences sectors. His practice encompasses a broad range of technologies, including semiconductors, integrated circuits, telecommunications, internet protocols and security software, as well as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and DNA sequencing. Johnson is recognized for his skill in resolving multifaceted litigation, often achieving creative settlements for his clients.

His experience primarily involves defending clients in patent infringement lawsuits. The sole tracked case, Phenix Longhorn, LLC v. Innolux Corporation, where he served as lead counsel for the defendant Innolux Corporation, involved patents related to display panel technology. This case concluded with a stipulated voluntary dismissal in January 2026, following a confidential licensing agreement that included a settlement payment of $3.825 million. Johnson's other notable engagements, as listed on his firm profile, also largely consist of patent infringement actions that resulted in settlements, demonstrating a consistent focus on defense-side resolutions.

Johnson also possesses experience with Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings.
