Jeffrey Allen Shneidman

Jeffrey Allen Shneidman is a seasoned patent litigator and partner at Fish & Richardson P.C., focusing on patent licensing and litigation, as well as trade secret litigation. His practice spans a wide array of sophisticated technologies, including computer hardware, software, artificial intelligence, computer vision, network security, computer simulation, 2D and 3D chip packaging, FPGAs, memory, medical devices, LED lighting, and consumer electronics. This technical depth is underpinned by his academic background, which includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Mr. Shneidman frequently represents U.S. and international technology clients, ranging from Fortune Global 500 companies to startups, in complex intellectual property disputes across federal and state courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). While his work encompasses both offensive and defensive matters, he has a notable record of successful defense, having helped high-technology clients avoid hundreds of millions of dollars in alleged damages. In tracked appearances, he has served as Lead Counsel on the defendant side in one case. His offensive work includes securing an exclusion order against a major camera company's products at the ITC.

His experience extends to post-grant proceedings, where he has advised clients since the inception of inter partes review (IPR) practice in 2012, successfully defending or invalidating patents in diverse technological fields. Mr. Shneidman's case highlights include arguing before the Federal Circuit for Xilinx, Inc., where PTAB decisions were affirmed on appeal. In trade secret matters, he notably vacated a $26 million jury verdict against a multinational engineering company (a verdict incurred under prior counsel) and achieved a defensive summary judgment win of $0 in damages by excluding the plaintiff's technical expert. Mr. Shneidman earned his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2011, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University in 2008, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. He was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 2011.
