Hallie Kiernan

Hallie Kiernan is an attorney focusing her practice on patent litigation, primarily representing defendants in complex intellectual property disputes. Her experience spans a range of technology areas, including computer software, financial services, e-commerce, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. She has consistently appeared on the defense side for operating companies, as evidenced by her representation of clients like Microsoft and Walmart.

Kiernan is affiliated with White & Case, where she currently holds an Of Counsel position. She played a key role in the significant "Corel Software, LLC v. Microsoft Corporation" litigation, where the White & Case team secured a summary judgment ruling for Microsoft, invalidating Corel's final patent and resolving a multi-billion dollar damages claim. Her case experience also includes representing Microsoft in other patent infringement actions and Walmart in a successful Motion for Summary Judgment regarding patent, trade dress, and antitrust claims.

She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis School of Law, and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences with a double major in Applied Mathematics and Comparative Literature from the University of California, Davis.
