Haixia Lin

Haixia Lin is a patent litigation partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP (WilmerHale), focusing her practice on intellectual property matters in federal district courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and before the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Her technical background in electrical and computer engineering informs her work across a range of industries, including microprocessors, wireless devices, medical devices, and artificial intelligence. She also counsels clients on patent portfolio strategy, infringement risk for AI products, and the IP risks associated with generative AI tools.

Lin primarily defends operating companies in patent disputes, with her tracked appearances reflecting a defendant-side preference. A notable engagement includes her role as lead counsel for Kangxi Communication Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Kangxi Communication Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. v. Skyworks Solutions Inc., a district court case concerning Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E front-end module (FEM) technology, which was stayed early in the proceedings. She also contributes to WilmerHale's "Federal Circuit Patent Watch" publications, offering insights into appellate decisions, including those impacting significant damages awards and PTAB rulings.

Lin earned her JD from Harvard Law School in 2010, and holds both an MEng (2002) and a BS (2001) in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
