Gregory Phillip Love

Gregory Phillip Love is an experienced patent litigation attorney specializing in complex intellectual property disputes, particularly in software, wireless communications, data infrastructure, and advanced technologies, including telecommunications and 3D printing. His practice also encompasses patent monetization, licensing, and enforcement matters.

Love primarily represents plaintiffs, having appeared on the plaintiff side in four of his six tracked cases, consistent with his firm's focus on patent monetization for innovators and rights holders. He also handles defense-side engagements, working with both plaintiffs and defendants in various litigation contexts.

Among his notable cases, Love served as Lead Counsel in Litigation re US Patent 8441721. He was also involved in Stratasys, Inc. v. Shanghai Lunkuo Technology Co. et al., a significant patent infringement lawsuit concerning 3D printing technology, filed in the Eastern District of Texas in August 2024. Additionally, in Smart Mobile Technologies LLC v. Apple Inc., he represented Smart Mobile Technologies, LLC, a patent assertion entity focused on wireless technology. This case involved multiple inter partes review (IPR) proceedings that reached the Federal Circuit, where decisions in December 2025 and January/March 2026 largely affirmed the patentability of Smart Mobile's claims related to dynamically configurable IP-based wireless devices against Apple's obviousness challenges.

Love possesses significant experience before the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), having been involved in IPR proceedings that resulted in validity decisions for patent owners. He earned his J.D. from Baylor University in 1999 and is admitted to practice in Texas.
