Frank Morton-Park

Frank Morton-Park is an Associate at Klarquist Sparkman LLP, focusing his practice on intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis on USPTO post-grant proceedings, patent litigation, and appellate work. His technical background in theoretical physics informs his work across a diverse range of technologies, including artificial intelligence software, medical imaging hardware, electrical and semiconductors, mobile devices and applications, physics and optics, and software and internet technology.

Morton-Park demonstrates a balanced approach to patent litigation, having represented both plaintiff and defendant entities in tracked cases. His experience includes serving as counsel for Rocket Media, LLC d/b/a Launch Labs in a patent dispute against Fullthrottle Technologies, LLC, and as back-up counsel for Touchmusic Entertainment LLC in a proceeding initiated by Unified Patents PTAB Data.

He possesses significant experience in PTAB and IPR proceedings, actively participating in and arguing before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Notably, he was part of the Klarquist team that secured an IPR win for Motorola at the PTAB, which was subsequently affirmed by the Federal Circuit; Morton-Park contributed to both the PTAB case and the appellate brief, and argued before the PTAB in that matter.

Morton-Park joined Klarquist Sparkman in 2021 as a patent agent and became an associate in 2024. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2024, holding an M.A. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin (2012) and a B.A. in Physics from Reed College (2010). He is admitted to practice in Oregon, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
