Eric L. Maschoff

Eric L. Maschoff is a founding partner at Maschoff Brennan, where his practice in patent litigation is informed by a background as a computer hardware and software design engineer. His technical focus areas span computer, electronics, semiconductor, communications, software, and Internet fields. His experience also extends to electromechanical systems, fiber optics, lasers, optical networking, X-ray devices, telecommunications, and mechanical engineering.

In litigation, Mr. Maschoff's firm represents clients on both sides of intellectual property disputes, including enforcing patents and defending against infringement claims. While his single tracked case appearance was as local counsel for a defendant in DISH DBS Corporation et al. v. Comcentric, Inc., the firm highlights its role as sole litigation counsel in Largan Precision's district court litigation against Motorola Mobility for patent infringement related to compact optical lens assemblies.

Mr. Maschoff also possesses significant experience in post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has been recognized in Patexia Insights' PTAB Intelligence Reports for his activity and performance representing patent owners. His work in this area includes advocating clients' positions in post-grant reviews, reexaminations, and reissues.

He earned his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and holds a B.S.E.E. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University. He is a Registered Patent Attorney and admitted to practice in the Utah State Bar.
