Elliot Cook

Elliot C. Cook is a partner at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett, & Dunner, where he focuses on a diverse intellectual property practice that includes patent litigation, post-grant challenges, patent prosecution, and portfolio development. His practice spans various technology areas, including wireless charging, power electronics, semiconductor structures, network video, shipping and tracking, and aerospace-related technologies such as swept fan blades for gas turbine engines. A significant portion of Mr. Cook's practice involves proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), particularly post-grant challenges. He has handled more than 40 inter partes review (IPR) matters, representing both petitioners and patent owners, and has experience with ex parte and inter partes reexamination matters. His PTAB experience has been instrumental in litigation strategies, such as in the Volkswagen wireless charging case where IPR proceedings led to a favorable settlement.

Mr. Cook earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in 2008 and holds a B.S. in Audio Engineering Technology from the University of Hartford, obtained in 2005. He is admitted to the Virginia State Bar.
