Eagle H. Robinson

Eagle H. Robinson is a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP, where he leads the firm's IP Transactions and Patent Prosecution practice in the United States, based in Austin. In this role, he is responsible for steering the firm's efforts in acquiring and defending intellectual property assets for clients ranging from established enterprises to startups. His practice areas include performing intellectual property due diligence for corporate investments and acquisitions, negotiating joint development agreements and patent licenses, and handling other transactional tasks.

Mr. Robinson possesses a strong focus on patent validity trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), representing both patent owners and petitioners. He has been recognized by Patexia as one of the top ten best-performing attorneys defending petitioners in Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings before the PTAB. His experience extends to various technology areas, evidenced by his affiliation with top applicants like SABIC Global Technologies B.V. and Mary Kay Inc. for patent prosecution over the past decade. He also contributes to the "Patent Challenges" blog, which provides analysis and insights on post-issuance proceedings (IPR, Post-Grant Review, and Covered Business Method review) at the USPTO.

In terms of litigation, Mr. Robinson has appeared in three plaintiff-side cases and one defendant-side case. Notably, he served as Counsel of Record for Qualcomm Incorporated in the Federal Circuit appeals Federal Express Corporation v. Qualcomm Incorporated (Nos. 24-1236 and 24-1235), arising from IPR proceedings concerning patents related to systems and methods for accessing sensor-derived shipment information. He was also Lead Counsel in Unified Patents PTAB Data v. Data Health Partners Inc and IPR2022-00135, and Back-Up Counsel in Unified Patents v. Olaplex Inc..
