Dominic E. Massa

Dominic E. Massa is a nationally recognized intellectual property litigator and partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, which he joined in 1993. His practice primarily focuses on high-stakes patent disputes for leading technology companies.

Mr. Massa's litigation experience spans a wide range of technologies, including integrated circuits, microprocessors, semiconductor manufacturing, wireless communications, speech encoding, power management, computer software, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. With a background in electrical engineering and computer science, he is adept at presenting complex technical subject matter in an accessible manner. His appearances tracked show a focus on the defendant side of patent litigation.

He possesses broad experience across all aspects of trial and appellate practice, including proceedings in state and federal courts, investigations before the International Trade Commission (ITC), and appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Notably, Mr. Massa has represented Broadcom Corporation in a case before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also highly experienced in post-grant proceedings, having represented clients in dozens of inter partes review (IPR) and reexamination proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Mr. Massa earned his JD, cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 1993 and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1990. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the US Patent and Trademark Office, and is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
