Diva Hollis

Diva Hollis is an intellectual property litigation partner and registered patent attorney in the Washington, D.C. office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Her practice primarily focuses on patent infringement and trade secret litigation across a wide range of technologies, including hardware, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and telecommunications (such as 5G standard essential patents). She represents operating companies on both the plaintiff and defendant sides in federal appellate and district courts, as well as before the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Hollis has achieved significant outcomes for her clients. In a notable tracked case, she represented Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. against Staton Techiya, LLC, where Samsung successfully argued an "unclean hands" defense, leading to a May 2024 order that Techiya's patent infringement claims were unenforceable. She secured a complete victory for Astellas Pharma Inc. in 2025 Hatch-Waxman litigation, obtaining a directed verdict of infringement for patents covering a branded overactive bladder treatment, which earned her "Litigator of the Week" recognition. She also represented Astellas in a 2026 case that settled for hundreds of millions of dollars shortly before trial. In 2022, she was part of the team that secured an ITC finding for iRobot that a competitor infringed patents related to robotic vacuum technology.

Her experience extends to appellate and PTAB matters. In 2024, Hollis successfully defended a PTAB decision upholding an Omnitracs patent related to vehicle fleet monitoring, which was followed by a $19 million jury award for infringement. She has also represented Intel in the Federal Circuit, securing three successive reversals of unfavorable Patent Trial and Appeal Board decisions and, in 2026, affirming a summary judgment of non-infringement.

Diva Hollis is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia (2017) and Virginia (2016) and is registered before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She earned her J.D. with Honors from The George Washington University Law School and holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, cum laude, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
