Dawn Rudenko Albert

Dawn Rudenko Albert is an intellectual property attorney with a practice encompassing complex patent litigation, alongside trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, and trade secrets. Her patent litigation experience spans various technology areas, including search engine technology, computer jukeboxes and networks for digital music distribution, and countertop video game technology. Her client base has included companies across industries such as software, financial services, consumer products, and media and entertainment.

In her tracked patent litigation appearances, Ms. Albert has primarily represented plaintiffs. Her experience includes representing a technology company in patent infringement actions related to search engine technology and a manufacturing company in disputes concerning computer jukeboxes and video game technology.

Ms. Albert was formerly Of Counsel at Dickstein Shapiro LLP. In March 2016, she joined Holland & Knight LLP as a Partner, where she currently practices in their Stamford office.

A notable case in her experience includes I/P Engine, Inc. v. AOL, Inc. et al., where she served as Of Counsel on the brief for the plaintiff-cross appellant. In this matter, concerning patents related to search engine technology, the Federal Circuit ultimately reversed a district court judgment in favor of I/P Engine, Inc., finding the asserted claims invalid for obviousness. She represents clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), in addition to trials throughout the United States. Ms. Albert earned her education from New England School of Law.
