David T. DeZern

David T. DeZern is a patent litigation attorney with a practice focused on intellectual property disputes across a range of complex technologies. He primarily represents patent owners, often in asserting their patent rights, as indicated by his track record of four plaintiff-side appearances compared to one defendant-side representation. However, his work also includes defending patent owners against validity challenges.

DeZern's technical experience spans telecommunications, wireless LTE technologies, video compression, software, electronic design automation, and semiconductor-related innovations, including memory architecture, solid-state storage, and data storage interfacing. He is a Partner at Nelson Bumgardner Conroy P.C., and his prior experience includes an affiliation with Cherry Johnson Siegmund James.

His notable representations include acting as counsel for Palisade Technologies, LLP in patent enforcement actions. He represented Palisade Technologies, LLP in a case against Micron Technology, Inc. et al. concerning memory and solid-state storage patents, which resulted in the dismissal of all infringement claims with prejudice. DeZern also served as Lead Counsel for Palisade Technologies, LLP when its patents were challenged in Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings by Unified Patents, LLC and Micron Technology, Inc. et al., demonstrating his experience defending patent validity at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
