Mr. Berl possesses substantial experience in post-grant proceedings, regularly appearing in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He successfully argued before the PTAB for Wyeth regarding the validity of a patent for its antibiotic product, Tygacil, in one of the first pharmaceutical IPR cases to proceed to trial and appeal. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997 and his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.
