Daniel Sternberg

Daniel Sternberg is a patent litigation attorney with a strong technical background in software engineering, telecommunications, circuit design, and medical devices. He represents clients in intellectual property (IP) litigation across various forums, including district courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC), engaging in both the defense and enforcement of patent infringement claims.

Currently serving as Counsel at McDermott Will & Emery, Mr. Sternberg was previously IP Counsel at Bose Corporation. His experience includes defending a multinational technology company against patent infringement claims related to smart thermostats, resulting in a favorable final determination of no violation. He also secured an exceptional case finding and attorney fees after a pre-trial dismissal for a software company facing patent infringement claims from a non-practicing entity.

In his in-house role at Bose Corporation, Mr. Sternberg was involved in cases such as Ingeniospec LLC v. Bose Corporation (defendant) and Bose Corp v. IngenioSpec LLC (plaintiff). These disputes concerned patents related to wireless communication devices, wearable hearing devices, hearing enhancement systems (earbuds), and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) headsets. He earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and an M.B.A. from Cornell University in 2013, an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004, and a B.A. from Clark University in 2000.
