Cortney S. Alexander

Cortney S. Alexander is a patent litigation attorney with nearly two decades of experience, primarily focused on the enforcement of U.S. patent rights at the trial-court level. Currently a partner at Kent & Risley LLC, he joined the firm in April 2017 after twelve years at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, where he was a partner from 2011 to 2017. His practice encompasses a diverse range of technologies, including software, augmented reality (AR), wireless communication, consumer electronics, automotive inventions, and diagnostics.

While his case history includes representation of both plaintiffs (6 appearances) and defendants (3 appearances), his firm profile emphasizes patent enforcement, and he has served as lead counsel in numerous patent infringement litigations, often for patent owners. SynchView Technologies, LLC, and acting as lead counsel for patent owners in other IPRs.

He earned his J.D. from Louisiana State University in 2002 and is admitted to practice in Georgia and Louisiana.
