Christopher Freeman

Christopher Freeman is a patent litigation professional with extensive experience on the plaintiff's side, primarily focusing on patent acquisition and monetization for Blackbird Technologies, an intellectual property monetization firm he co-founded. His practice has involved litigating patent cases across a diverse range of technologies, including consumer products, computer and email security, database systems, streaming media, encryption, casino gaming technology, semiconductors, mobile devices and software, automotive components, and business methods. His tracked appearances for Blackbird Technologies include litigation against Fitbit, Garmin International, and TomTom, indicating a focus on consumer electronics and navigation technology.

During his tenure as Vice President and Head of Litigation at Blackbird Technologies, Mr. Freeman oversaw a portfolio of over 100 patents and applications. Notable cases include a successful Federal Circuit appeal vacating a non-infringement judgment related to LED lighting technology in Blackbird Tech LLC v. He is currently a Managing Director at Burford Capital, where he is responsible for assessing and underwriting legal risk in patent matters and evaluating intellectual property monetization campaigns.
