Christopher C. Campbell

Christopher C. Campbell is a seasoned patent litigation attorney and Chair of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP's Technology IP Litigation practice, based in Washington, D.C.. He focuses on complex patent infringement, trade secret, and technology cases across a broad spectrum of industries. His practice areas encompass artificial intelligence, computer software, electronics, telecommunications, semiconductors, medical devices, and mechanical devices. Mr. Campbell has extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes patent trials.

Prior to joining Cahill in April 2025 to launch the firm's technology IP litigation practice, Mr. Campbell co-founded and led the innovation protection group at King & Spalding for over six years. His earlier career also includes nearly a decade as a partner at Cooley and a partnership at Goodwin Procter.

Among his notable achievements, Mr. Campbell secured a $43 million willful infringement jury verdict for Skillz Platform, Inc. against AviaGames, Inc. in the Northern District of California, an outcome that earned him recognition as Law.com's Litigator of the Week and Law360's Legal Lion in 2024. He also obtained a complete defense verdict for SecureNet against Alarm.com in the District of Delaware and a rare defense verdict for Vistaprint (Cimpress) in the Eastern District of Texas. In a tracked matter, he serves as counsel of record for CrowdStrike, Inc. in Skysong Innovations, LLC v. CrowdStrike, Inc. et al., a case involving cybersecurity and AI-related patents.

Mr. Campbell is recognized for his experience in post-grant proceedings, having been honored by The Legal 500 as a leading expert in ex parte and inter partes reexamination of patents. The firm's practice also engages in challenging and defending patents through Inter Partes Review (IPR) and Post-Grant Review (PGR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia, as well as before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he previously served as an Examiner. He earned his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a B.S.M.E. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
