Voltage, LLC, show a focus on defending operating companies.

He has secured notable outcomes for his clients, including a rare ITC reversal for Voltage in a patent infringement dispute involving solar panel technology, where the ITC found no Section 337 violation. In Intellectual Ventures I LLC v. Trend Micro Incorporated et al., Mr. Yen represented Trend Micro and obtained a significant victory when the court invalidated two asserted patents under 35 U.S.C. Section 101, a ruling affirmed by the Federal Circuit. He also successfully represented Snap Inc. in Palo Alto Research Center Inc. v. Snap Inc., achieving an early invalidation of one patent on Section 101 grounds and securing a stay pending IPR proceedings for the remaining patents.

Mr. Yen earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. He holds advanced technical degrees, including an MSEE from Portland State University and a BSEE from UC San Diego. He was admitted to the California Bar in November 2011.
