Aubrey A. Haddach

Aubrey A. Haddach is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with a primary focus on patent litigation and strategic IP counseling within the life sciences sector. Her expertise encompasses chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices, drawing on a technical background as a medicinal chemist and pharmaceutical process research chemist.

Currently serving as the Executive Director, Intellectual Property at Halozyme, Inc., Ms. Haddach plays a key in-house role in protecting and asserting the company's patent portfolio. She primarily represents patent owners defending their intellectual property rights. A significant portion of her recent work involves leading Halozyme's patent enforcement efforts against Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC concerning Halozyme's proprietary MDASE subcutaneous delivery technology.

This high-profile litigation, Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC v. Halozyme Inc., spans both U.S. federal district court and international venues, where Halozyme has secured notable outcomes such as a preliminary injunction against Merck's Keytruda SC in Germany. Ms. Haddach is also actively involved in numerous related Post-Grant Review (PGR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), where Halozyme defends its patents against challenges from Merck.

Prior to her in-house role at Halozyme, Ms. Haddach gained extensive experience in private practice at firms including Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Venable LLP, and Dinsmore & Shohl LLP, and also co-founded BIOmnia Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005 and holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and a B.S. in Chemistry from UC San Diego.
