Arthur A. Gasey

Arthur A. Gasey is a patent litigation attorney with a practice focused on intellectual property enforcement, primarily representing plaintiffs and patent holders. His technical background in Chemical Engineering, coupled with experience in cases involving complex technology, underpins his litigation work.

Gasey is a Partner at Vitale, Vickrey, Niro, Solon & Gasey LLP (VVN Law), a firm he co-founded in 2017 after its partners transitioned from the previous Niro Law firm. He was previously associated with Niro Law, where he appeared as of counsel in cases such as AlmondNet, Inc. et al. v. Oath Holdings Inc. (Yahoo! Inc.). His practice includes both patent litigation and prosecution, as well as trade secret and copyright cases.

Throughout his career, Mr. Gasey has secured significant results for his clients. He was heavily involved in achieving a $48 million jury verdict in a trade secret and patent infringement case in Detroit, and separately negotiated a $2.9 million settlement with a radio scanner manufacturer. He also successfully obtained a summary judgment of non-infringement for a client in a lawsuit concerning a patent on a computer programmable pharmaceutical compounder. His experience extends to Post Grant Review (PGR) trials, having contributed to webinars on the topic, indicating involvement in PTAB proceedings.

Mr. Gasey earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from John Marshall Law School in 1992. He was a staff editor for the John Marshall Law Review and a winner of the Giles S. Rich National Moot Court Competition for Patent Law in 1992. He is admitted to practice in Illinois.
