Archis Neil Ozarkar

Archis Neil Ozarkar is a Senior Counsel in McKool Smith's Houston office, specializing in intellectual property disputes with a focus on patent, trade secret, and trademark litigation. Drawing on a background in electrical and computer engineering, his practice primarily encompasses the technology and oil and gas industries.

Mr. Ozarkar demonstrates experience representing both patent owners and defendants in complex IP matters. His case involvement, including acting as counsel for Monolithic Power Systems and Sony Group Corporation as defendants, and for Greenthread LLC as plaintiff, highlights his balanced approach to litigation roles. Notably, he was part of the McKool Smith team that secured a significant $192 million patent infringement verdict for Mojo Mobility against Samsung in September 2024, stemming from willful infringement of wireless charging technology patents.

In addition to district court litigation, Mr. Ozarkar actively participates in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He was recognized in 2024 as one of the "Most Active Attorneys Representing Patent Owners" by Patexia's PTAB Intelligence Report. His PTAB experience includes successfully avoiding the institution of inter partes reviews (IPRs) against Mojo Mobility's patents by Samsung. He also represented Samesurf, Inc. in an IPR appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Admitted to practice in Texas, Mr. Ozarkar is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Before pursuing his legal career, he worked as an engineer at two Fortune 50 companies.
