Andrew R. He is particularly active in post-grant patent proceedings, having appeared in over 100 Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) trials as first-chair trial counsel. Before entering private practice, Mr. Sommer served as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and was one of the first law clerks for the Honorable Kimberly A. Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law and holds a B.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
