Ameya V. Paradkar

Ameya V. Paradkar is a Partner at Blank Rome LLP, based in Washington, D.C., where he concentrates his practice on patent litigation. His work spans a range of sophisticated technologies, including software, semiconductors, biotechnology, authentication, cellular, encoding/rendering, artificial intelligence, and gallium nitride transistor technologies. In his counseling practice, he also advises on biotechnical and electro-mechanical technologies, as well as trade secret management and license agreements.

While Mr. Paradkar has represented a software company asserting its authentication patents through a favorable settlement, his practice largely involves defending technologically advanced clients against patent infringement claims. For instance, he served as counsel for Bose Corporation in the case Bose Corp v. IngenioSpec LLC, where Bose was a defendant facing patent infringement allegations related to wireless wearable devices, a case that was ultimately dismissed without prejudice. His experience also includes successfully representing Efficient Power Conversion Corp. in an ITC investigation, which resulted in a trial victory and favorable final determination, and obtaining successful summary judgment for II-VI Incorporated in a patent infringement lawsuit.

Mr. Paradkar possesses experience in litigating patent infringement issues in Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission and has appeared in various U.S. District Courts. Blank Rome has been recognized for its intellectual property practice, including being listed as a Top 50 firm for Inter Partes Reviews by Patexia in 2017, and the firm highlights its capability in executing IPR strategies to stay district court litigation. His background also includes preparing Paragraph IV Notice letters and conducting freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses for medical devices and software, particularly under the Hatch-Waxman Act.

Mr. Paradkar earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
