Adam Rizk

Adam Rizk is a prominent patent litigation attorney and a Member at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo P.C., where he co-chairs the firm's International Trade Commission (ITC) practice. His practice primarily focuses on high-stakes patent litigation in federal district courts and, notably, Section 337 investigations before the ITC. Rizk specializes in complex technology areas including microprocessors, digital and RF circuitry, semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes, MEMS, LCD and LED display systems, audio and video processing, VLSI design, and software-driven systems. Before entering private practice, he gained real-world industry experience as a principal engineer at BAE Systems, complementing his legal education with graduate studies in electrical engineering. Prior to Mintz, he practiced at Pepper Hamilton LLP.

Rizk demonstrates experience representing both patent owners (plaintiffs) and defendants. In the tracked cases, he has appeared twice on the plaintiff side, including for Marlin Semiconductor Limited et al. v. Apple et al. where he is lead counsel in an ITC investigation and companion district court cases asserting semiconductor patents against multiple technology companies, with an evidentiary hearing scheduled for February 2026. He also represented Juul Labs Inc. as a plaintiff in Juul Labs Inc. v. Altria et al. On the defense side, he represented Cirrus Logic Inc. in Cirrus Logic Inc. et al. v. Greenthread, LLC. His broader firm profile highlights a strong track record representing complainants (patent owners) in numerous ITC investigations to successful outcomes, including for Graphics Properties Holdings, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Innovative Foundry Technologies, and Daedalus Prime. He also successfully defended Juul Labs Inc. in an ITC investigation against Altria's subsidiary NJOY, securing a non-infringement finding affirmed by the Commission in March 2025.

While his practice heavily emphasizes ITC and District Court litigation, Rizk has also contributed to discussions around Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings, co-authoring an article on balancing efficiency and fairness in IPRs alongside district court litigation.
